As a rule, the rental price includes basic insurance, which entitles to minimum liability cover. However, the party renting the vehicle should find out whether it includes sufficiently comprehensive motor liability and motor insurance or whether additional insurance should be taken out. The minimum insurance does not often include insurance cover for the driver and passengers.

The renting party can also be made personally liable to pay compensation if the car is damaged or stolen, unless the insurance includes cover for such incidents.

In a loss situation, the renting party usually has to pay a deductible that may be considerably high. However, smaller deductible or its removal altogether can usually be connected to the rental agreement by an additional payment.
