Risk study on motor liability insurance for 2017 (link)
In the annual risk study, insurance companies report their insurance portfolios and loss details for each policy and loss type to the Finnish Motor Insurers' Centre. Based on the statistics, the Finnish Motor Insurers' Centre calculates the risk premiums for property losses and personal injuries per vehicle type (passenger cars, lorries, etc.) and purpose of use (private, professional and leased without a driver).
The Finnish Motor Insurers' Centre then forwards the calculations to its member companies and the Financial Supervisory Authority. When determining insurance policies, the companies may utilise the risk premium calculations as they deem appropriate.
The risk study includes three types of figures:
The figures for actual risk premiums are presented in tables at the end of the study.
